Culinary Diplomacy at the Highest Level in Kazakhstan

Astana and Almaty, Kazakhstan – 20 and 23 September 2025.

Two exclusive gastronomic evenings took place in Kazakhstan, jointly organised by GoodProject, the Selfie and Inzhu restaurants, the BeNeLux Chamber of Commerce in Kazakhstan, and the Embassy of the Kingdom of Belgium in Kazakhstan.

On 20 September, the Selfie restaurant at The Ritz-Carlton Astana hosted a dinner that also marked the restaurant's 8th anniversary.

On 23 September, a second dinner was held at the Inzhu restaurant in Almaty, bringing together the city's business and cultural elite over exquisite Belgian cuisine.

Both evenings were led by Belgian chef Tim Boury, holder of three Michelin stars, supported by sous-chefs Yara Ingels and Floris Julian. Guests enjoyed a signature menu in which classic Belgian traditions were reinterpreted through modern culinary techniques. The use of premium ingredients specially flown in from Belgium made the dinners a true celebration of fine dining.

Beyond gastronomy, the evenings served as a platform for cultural and diplomatic exchange, underlining the cooperation and friendship between Belgium and Kazakhstan.
