The first Business Council Belgium - Kazakhstan was held in Astana

On June 5, 2023, Astana hosted the first Belgium-Kazakhstan Business Council.
The main organizers of the event were the BeNeLux Chamber of Commerce in Kazakhstan and the Foreign Trade Chamber of Kazakhstan.

The main topic of the Business Council was the expansion of the presence of Belgian companies in the Kazakhstan market and the implementation of joint investment projects, the further development of trade, economic and investment cooperation between Belgium and Kazakhstan, the creation of a platform for interaction between business leaders and the study of potential business opportunities in such sectors of the economy as healthcare, medical equipment and pharmaceuticals; Agriculture; food industry; communication, transport, logistics; engineering and infrastructure; information technology, digitalization and communications; chemical industry and biotechnology.

This event was an excellent opportunity to learn about the latest business development trends in Kazakhstan and meet potential business partners from Belgium.

Representatives of the official and business circles of Kazakhstan and Belgium took part in the Business Council: Mr. Baimukhan, Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Kingdom of Belgium, Mr. Vantigem, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Belgium to the Republic of Kazakhstan, Mr. Richard, Head of AWEX (Walloon Export and Investment Agency) , President of the BeNeLux Chamber of Commerce Mr. Denis Van den Weich, Chairman of the Board of the Foreign Trade Chamber of Kazakhstan Mr. Ayan Yerenov, representatives of the Kazakhstani business community (International Financial Center "Astana", JSC "National Management Holding" Baiterek ", National Company "Kazakh Invest, a number of Kazakh companies from different sectors of the economy), as well as heads and representatives of Belgian companies - members of the Belgian trade mission, which included OTN SYSTEMS, ORFIT INDUSTRIES, AMB Ecosteryl, IBA and others.

The event was held in a hybrid format and brought together about 80 participants.

Within the framework of the Business Council, a Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation was signed between the BeNeLux Chamber of Commerce in the Republic of Kazakhstan and SK-Pharmacy LLP.
