About Us
Association of legal entities "Association" Chamber of Commerce "BeNeLux"
The BeNeLux Chamber of Commerce Association was created on the initiative of the Embassies of the Kingdoms of Belgium and the Netherlands, as well as the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. Official registration with the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Kazakhstan took place on April 15, 2021.
As a non-profit organization, we unite our members in order to implement the tasks and goals determined by the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Charter of the Chamber. Our mission is to represent the interests of businesses of all sizes, from small to large businesses, both in Kazakhstan and in the countries of Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg. We regulate a wide range of areas of activity, including industry, domestic and international trade, agriculture, finance, services and much more.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, from 2017 to 2019, the total trade turnover between the BeNeLux countries and Kazakhstan amounted to 17,6 billion US dollars. Foreign direct investment from BeNeLux countries has exceeded US$2005 billion since 80.
The Chamber actively promotes the development of trade and economic relations between BeNeLux and Kazakhstan, and also promotes investment cooperation. We provide consulting assistance, information and other assistance to both Kazakh and companies from BeNeLux countries. Our assistance includes support when entering the market, information on the peculiarities of regulation in various fields of activity in the Chamber’s countries and other issues, regardless of the company’s form of ownership.
We work closely with the Government, relevant ministries and departments, as well as with other organizations and companies, such as the Foreign Trade Chamber of Kazakhstan, KAZENERGY, Kazakh Invest, Kazakh Tourism, EcoJer, NPP Atameken, SK-Pharmacia, QazBioPharm, ESGQ Rating Agency, Iteca, Atakent, Dutch Greenhouse Delta, as well as trade and diplomatic missions of the Chamber countries.
Our Chamber is accredited by the Belgian-Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce Abroad (BLCCA), providing access to a learning and networking platform with 36 accredited Belgian and Luxembourg Chambers of Commerce worldwide.
The Board of Directors of the Chamber is formed from representatives of leading companies in the BeNeLux region in Kazakhstan, including Ahlers, Arendt & Medernach, Eurasian Resources Group, Puratos and FoodVentures. The Chairman of the Council is the President of the Chamber - Honorary Consul of the Kingdom of Belgium in the city of Almaty and the Almaty region, Mr. Denis Van den Weij.
Observers in the Chamber are the Ambassadors of the BeNeLux countries in Kazakhstan:
His Excellency Mr. Henri Vantigem, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Belgium to the Republic of Kazakhstan;
His Excellency Mr. Nico Schermers, Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to the Republic of Kazakhstan;
His Excellency Mr. Thomas Reisen, Ambassador of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg to the Republic of Kazakhstan.
All members of the Chamber can use the premises of our office in Nur-Sultan (Headquarters) free of charge for business meetings and/or use of video conference facilities (up to 10 people).

The BeNeLux Chamber of Commerce intends to be the leading catalyst for the economic expansion of companies from Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg in Kazakhstan, as well as for Kazakh companies wishing to establish joint ventures or wish to export to the BeNeLux regions.

Van den Weghe Denis
Mr. Van Den Weich was born in 1984 and holds a bachelor's and master's degree in chemical engineering from the Catholic University of Leuven (Belgium). Appointed President of the ALE "BeNeLux Chamber of Commerce" in April 2021. He has more than 8 years of experience in public service and corporate governance.
From 2010 to 2020, he held the positions of the Head of the Japanese international company in the field of consumer goods (FMCG), Chairman of the Board-President of the company Atakent KTsDS JSC, Member of the Board of Directors of Atakent KTsDS JSC, Independent Director - Member of the Board of Directors of JSC "NC "Kazakh Invest" and Chairman of the Committee on Human Resources, Remuneration and Social Security of the Board of Directors, Member of the Board of Directors in the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of France-Kazakhstan. Kurzhikaev Anuar Myrzagazievich was born in 1984, by the decision of the Board of Directors he was appointed to the position of General Director of the ALE "Chamber of Commerce "BeNeLux" in November 2022.
From 2021 to 2022 served as Advisor to the Chairman of the Board of Directors of AIFC Business Connect.

Direct investments of the BeNeLux countries
The Kingdom of the Netherlands is the number one investor in terms of gross direct investment in Kazakhstan.
At the end of 2022, the gross inflow of foreign direct investment in Kazakhstan amounted to $28 billion.
