Memorandum Signed with ESGQ
On 30 November, at the BeNeLux Chamber of Commerce office in Astana, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the BeNeLux Chamber of Commerce Association, represented by General Director Anuar Kurzhikayev, and the ESG rating agency ESGQ, represented by General Director Yerlik Karazhan.
Given that ESGQ is the first ESG rating agency in Central Asia with local content, meeting advanced international standards and practices, and the BeNeLux Chamber's intention to promote ESGQ's methodology among Chamber members and to attract to the Kazakh market companies from Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg that give maximum consideration to sustainable development and implement ESG standards in their work, the parties agreed to work closely together to promote joint ESG risk-management initiatives in Kazakhstan.
The parties also plan to hold joint events in Kazakhstan and Central Asia, including accelerator programmes, practical seminars, master classes, mentoring and more, for BeNeLux Chamber members, the Chamber's current foreign investors, and Kazakh entrepreneurs.
In addition, the parties agree to exchange information, knowledge and market trends to support the fight against global climate change and ESG initiatives in Central Asian countries by attracting effective investment into green and other best practices.
