BeNeLux – Kazakhstan Trade Talks
On 15 February 2024, the Nazarbayev University Graduate School of Business in Astana hosted the inaugural "BeNeLux – Kazakhstan Trade Talks," organised by the BeNeLux Chamber of Commerce together with QazTrade and Nazarbayev University.
The event was attended by H.E. Henri Vantieghem, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Belgium, and H.E. Nico Schermers, Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, the leadership of QazTrade and Kazakh Export, as well as Chamber members Batys Woodworks Production and Nijhuis Saur Industries.
The dialogue platform featured active discussion of various aspects of trade and investment relations between the BeNeLux countries and Kazakhstan. Attention focused on the potential for expanding trade under the Enhanced Partnership and Cooperation Agreement (EPCA), the current geopolitical and trade relations between Kazakhstan and the BeNeLux countries, Kazakhstan's investment potential, and support for the export of Kazakh goods and services to the EU/BeNeLux region.
The event gave participants a unique opportunity to discuss key aspects of cooperation and to develop concrete strategies for further developing trade relations between the regions. The exchange of views and experience held as part of the BeNeLux – Kazakhstan Trade Talks helped strengthen mutual understanding and trust among participants — an important step towards a sustainable and mutually beneficial strategic partnership going forward.
