“Open Day” at the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in the Republic of Kazakhstan for members and partners of the BeNeLux Chamber of Commerce

On February 7, 2024, the “Open Day” of the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in the Republic of Kazakhstan was held in Astana for members and partners of the BeNeLux Chamber of Commerce.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to the Republic of Kazakhstan Mr. Nico Schermers with Embassy colleagues, Advisor on Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality Mr. Ari Veldhausen and Senior Economic Officer Ms. Dinara Amanturlieva welcomed the participants and held a meeting at the Embassy office with representatives of member companies and partners of the Chamber: SOUDAL, WPK, ERG, Rijk Zwaan, SAPEK, Nijhuis Saur Industries, QazBioPharm Holding.
During the meeting, the participants informed the Ambassador about the activities of the companies, the implementation of current and future projects with the participation of Dutch partners. Representatives of the companies expressed interest in cooperation with the embassy and strengthening trade and investment ties between the countries. Important issues were raised in the fields of agriculture and water management, in which the Netherlands has a leading position in Europe.
The Ambassador assured the members and partners of the Chamber of support from the Embassy of the Netherlands in the Republic of Kazakhstan for the development of business in the two countries.
At the end of the meeting, the diplomats conducted a familiarization visit to the Embassy office, introducing the team of employees.

The Netherlands is the number one investor in the economy of Kazakhstan and is one of the five largest trading partners of Kazakhstan in Europe. In 2023, trade turnover between the countries amounted to 4,4 billion US dollars (exports - 4 billion, imports - 400 million). Since 2005, the volume of direct investment from indigenous peoples in the Republic of Kazakhstan has amounted to about 117,7 billion US dollars.
