BeNeLux – Kazakhstan Trade Talks

On February 15, 2024, in Astana, within the walls of the Nazarbayev University School of Business, the inauguration of the first meeting “BeNeLux – Kazakhstan Trade Talks” took place, organized by the BeNeLux Chamber of Commerce in conjunction with QazTrade and Nazarbayev University.

This event was attended by the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Belgium, Mr. Henri Vantigem and the Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Mr. Nico Schermers, the management of QazTrade and Kazakh Export, as well as members of the Chamber represented by Batys Woodworks Production and Nijhuis Saur Industries.

During the dialogue platform, various aspects of trade and investment relations between the Benelux countries and Kazakhstan were actively discussed. The focus was on the potential for trade expansion under the Enhanced Partnership and Cooperation Agreement (EPCA), current geopolitical and trade relations between Kazakhstan and the Benelux countries, Kazakhstan's investment potential, as well as supporting the export of Kazakh goods and services to the EU/Benelux region.

This event provided a unique opportunity for participants to discuss key aspects of cooperation and develop specific strategies for the further development of trade relations between the regions. The exchange of views and experiences held within the framework of BeNeLux – Kazakhstan Trade Talks contributed to strengthening mutual understanding and trust between the participants, which is an important step towards a sustainable and mutually beneficial further strategic partnership.
