A key partner and investor
The Netherlands is one of Kazakhstan’s key trading partners among European Union countries and its leading investor. Investment for 1991–2025 totalled $130.9 billion, with $4.6 billion in 2025 — a rise of more than 25% — and its share of total FDI reaching 22.4%.
Business presence
More than 700 companies with Dutch capital are registered in Kazakhstan, covering almost every region of the country.
Trade
Kazakh exports: roughly $4.4 billion in 2023, $5.22 billion in 2024 and $5.9 billion in 2025 (up 13%). Physical volume grew from 9.2 million tonnes in 2024 to 11.9 million tonnes in 2025 (+32%). Key trade sectors are agriculture, oil and gas, chemicals and machinery. The trade balance has remained in surplus throughout 2023–2025.
