Internal Committee Meeting on Mining and Oil & Gas

On 31 July 2024, Astana hosted a meeting of the Internal Committee on Mining and Oil & Gas, organised by the BeNeLux Chamber of Commerce. Held in a hybrid format, the event brought together key industry players to discuss advanced technologies and opportunities for cooperation.

The Chamber's President, Denis Van den Weghe, opened the meeting, stressing the importance of the platform for dialogue, experience-sharing, and initiating changes to the legislative framework.

Participants included representatives of leading companies such as Forum Geology, Nijhuis Saur Industries, BGDN, Mokveld Central Europe GmbH, Witteveen+Bos Caspian LLP and Green Chemicals Kazakhstan, as well as the Atameken National Chamber of Entrepreneurs and the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands for Central Asia.

Particular attention was given to:
– Water and wastewater treatment: Aigul Nurmagambetova of Nijhuis Saur Industries and Kraaijn de Brabander of Witteveen+Bos Caspian LLP presented the latest solutions for the oil and gas and mining industries.
– Technological solutions: Vladimir Yermolenko of Mokveld Central Europe GmbH spoke about control valves, while Roman Kine of BGDN presented devices for improving conveyor safety. Almaz Kulumbetov of Green Chemicals Kazakhstan gave a detailed overview of chemicals for oil and gas transportation and production, as well as for oil refineries.
– Kazakh content: Rustam Shuntukov of the Atameken National Chamber of Entrepreneurs discussed ways to increase Kazakh content in the mining and metallurgical sector.

The BeNeLux Chamber of Commerce continues to actively support companies in their efforts to introduce advanced technologies and strengthen cooperation with international partners, contributing to the sustainable development and growth of the Kazakh economy.
