Mr Van den Weghe was born in 1984 in Belgium. He holds a bachelor’s and master’s degree in chemical engineering from the Catholic University of Leuven (Belgium).

Since 2013, Denis has been a Member of the Board of Directors of the Belgian-Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce and Industry for Russia and Belarus.

From 2013 to 2021 he was a Member of the Board of Directors of the France-Kazakhstan Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

From 2010 to 2016 he held several senior positions at a Japanese international FMCG company.

Since February 2017, Mr Van den Weghe has served as Honorary Consul of the Kingdom of Belgium in Almaty and Almaty Region.

From July 2017 to May 2019 he was Chairman of the Management Board and President of JSC "KCDS Atakent".

From May 2018 to June 2019, Denis served as a Member of the Board of Directors of JSC "KCDS Atakent".

From August 2019 to July 2020, Mr Van den Weghe served as an Independent Director – Member of the Board of Directors of JSC "NC Kazakh Invest" and Chairman of the Board’s Human Resources, Remuneration and Social Welfare Committee.

Since July 2018 he has served as Chairman of the Board of the Society of Honorary Consuls.

Since April 2020 he has been Executive Director of LLP "Kaz-Dia-Test".

Since May 2020 he has been a member of the Energy Committee of the Presidium of the Atameken National Chamber of Entrepreneurs of Kazakhstan.

Since April 2021 he has served as President of the BeNeLux Chamber of Commerce Association.

Since August 2021, Denis has been Chairman of the Board of Directors of LLP "Green Chemicals Kazakhstan".

He is involved in several projects in the production of disposable test systems for detecting various diseases, waste-to-energy conversion, chemical production for the oil and gas and mining and metallurgical industries, and water treatment. He speaks Dutch, French, English and Russian. He has completed seminars on business management, leadership, coaching, financial skills and strategy in the United Kingdom and Malaysia.
