Kazakhstan and the Netherlands sign €160M in deals at GreenTech Amsterdam
On the sidelines of the GreenTech Amsterdam 2026 exhibition, a Kazakh delegation led by Trade and Integration Minister Arman Shakkaliyev and Dutch partners agreed on joint projects worth €160 million (about $185 million) — spanning shipbuilding to agricultural technology.
A memorandum with Damen Shipyards envisages a shipbuilding and ship-repair cluster in the Mangystau region, including technology transfer and workforce training. Kazakh agricultural companies held separate talks with Axia Seeds and DENSO AgriTech Solutions on seed production and greenhouse technology.
Another track was logistics: the parties discussed expanding cooperation through the Port of Rotterdam to integrate Kazakh products into European supply chains, as well as the prospects of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route. Bilateral trade grew 57.9% to $970 million in January–February 2026, with Kazakh exports up 65%.
Why this matters for Chamber members. The Netherlands is again signalling interest not just in raw-material trade but in localising production — shipbuilding and seed production create years of demand for Kazakh contractors, engineers and logistics partners.
