
Henk Nieboer

In 1987 Henk graduated from the Faculty of Civil Engineering at Delft University of Technology as a geotechnical engineer specialising in coastal structures, and joined Witteveen+Bos Consulting Engineers. There he held the roles of coastal and geotechnical specialist, deputy representative in Jakarta (Indonesia), head of the Hydraulic Engineering and Ports business unit, and company director (2006–2017). In 2019 he left the company and founded his own consultancy, Adaelta.
From 2015 to 2022, Henk was director of EcoShape, Building with Nature, a foundation running the public-private "Building with Nature" innovation programme on behalf of the Dutch water sector. In 2022, Henk became director of the Netherlands Water Partnership, a public-private organisation for the Dutch water sector, where he currently chairs the advisory board.
He served on the supervisory boards of Aventus, a vocational education institute (2013–2021), and Deltares (2015–2023), the Netherlands’ national institute for water and subsurface knowledge. Henk is Honorary Consul of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the Netherlands.
Henk Nieboer has worked in the Netherlands, the Netherlands Antilles, Germany, Belgium, the United Kingdom, Poland, Indonesia, Singapore, Vietnam, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Serbia, Malaysia, Tajikistan, Russia, Latvia, the United Arab Emirates and Egypt.
Henk Nieboer is Honorary Consul of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the Netherlands.
