Attraction of investments and localization of innovative pharmaceutical products and medical equipment within the framework of contract manufacturing in the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan

On January 17, at the SK-Pharmacy site, a webinar "Attracting investments and localization of innovative pharmaceutical products and medical equipment in the framework of contract manufacturing in the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan." The BeNeLux Chamber of Commerce, as a co-organizer of this event, worked to attract Diplomatic missions accredited in the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as European companies, to participate.

At the meeting, the Heads of Diplomatic Missions took part: Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands Andre Carstens, Ambassador of Sweden Eva Polano and Ambassador of Austria Willy Kempel - online, Charge d'Affaires - Head of the Economic Department of the German Embassy Holgar Kollei, Deputy Heads of Diplomatic Missions - Florian Leray (Belgium), David Matos (Portugal), Tomasz Kollat ​​(Poland), Head of the Trade Department of the European Union Delegation to Kazakhstan Agnieszka Osietzka, Vice President for Medicine - Dean of the School of Medicine of Nazarbayev University Massimo Pignatelli, director of the service support department of Kazakhinvest JSC Alida Tuebekova, management of SK-Pharmacy and the BeNeLux Chamber of Commerce.

Representatives of business circles were also invited to participate: Dutch Kazorange, Janssen, Philips, Portuguese company Ihcare and "farmaka» British-Swedish pharmaceutical company AstraZeneca,STADA Kazakhstan”, “Bayer” and others.

In general, the number of participants in the international webinar was 85, representing more than 10 countries of the world, of which 60 participated online.

The main item on the agenda was attraction investments and localization of innovative pharmaceutical products and medical equipment within the framework of contract manufacturing on the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Pharmaceutical companies are looking for contract manufacturers who offer a wider range of services or those who are ready to play a more strategic and long-term role in production.

Chairman of SK-Pharmacy Yerkhat Iskaliyev positively noted the growing interest of the EU in the country's pharmaceutical industry. SK-Pharmacy is interested in deepening cooperation with Dutch companies such as Philips, Kazorange, Janssen: along with the traditional supply of medicines and equipment, the issue of establishing an assembly process on the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan with further entry into the EU market is also being considered. .

Anuar Kurzhikaev, General Director of the BeNeLux Chamber of Commerce, briefed the participants on the plans of the Chamber for the current year, and also welcomed Janssen, a member of the Johnson&Johnson group of companies, as a new member of the BeneLux Chamber.

As a result of the meeting, plans were outlined to organize a trip of the Kazakh delegation from representatives of the Ministry of Health, SK Pharmavation, the BeNeLux chamber to the Kingdom of the Netherlands to negotiate with the business community. The parties also agreed to conclude a memorandum of cooperation between the BeNeLux Chamber of Commerce and SK-Pharmacy for further development of the above tasks for the entry of European pharmaceutical companies into the Kazakhstani market.
