The President received the Executive Chairman of the Board of ArcelorMittal Lakshmi Mittal

During the meeting, topical issues of ArcelorMittal Temirtau's activities in Kazakhstan, as well as plans for the coming period, were discussed.

The key topic of the conversation was issues related to ensuring safety conditions at work, fair wages for local citizens, the fulfillment of social obligations and the modernization of the material and technical base.

The head of state pointed out the exceptional importance of the company's compliance with these requirements and obligations.

Along with this, the President focused on the issue of meeting the needs of the domestic market through the supply of ArcelorMittal Temirtau products.

In addition, special attention was paid to the company's measures to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

Lakshmi Mittal assured Kassym-Jomart Tokayev that ArcelorMittal would invest $1 billion in Kazakhstan in the near future, most of which would be directed to modernizing production.
