Representatives of the Institute of Radioelements (IRE, Belgium)

On February 7-10, 2023, representatives of the Institute of Radio Elements (IRE, Belgium) arrived on a working visit to Almaty at the invitation of the Institute of Nuclear Physics (INP) of the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The immediate purpose of the visit was to expand development opportunities in the field of nuclear physics and medicine through cooperation and further strengthening of bilateral relations. It should be noted that the first meeting between INP and IRE took place in Belgium at the end of August 2022, with the assistance of the Walloon Export and Investment Agency (AWEX).

Both sides discussed the following topics: isotope production standards, scientific and technical aspects of radiochemistry and isotope production, and issues related to safety, protection and radiation protection programs in the context of nuclear medicine. During the visit, the IRE team members had the opportunity to visit the Trade and Economic Representation of the Kingdom of Belgium, AWEX Almaty, where they also expressed their gratitude for the support provided.

The contribution of the IRE to the future development of the industry in the country is certainly important, given that, as a public benefit institution, the institute has a significant impact on the pharmaceutical and nuclear industry in Belgium.
