Association of legal entities "Association" Chamber of Commerce "BeNeLux"

The association of legal entities "Association" BeNeLux Chamber of Commerce "(hereinafter referred to as the Association) was created at the initiative of the Embassies of the Kingdoms of Belgium and the Netherlands, as well as the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg and on April 15, 2021 was registered with the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Being a non-profit organization, uniting its members to achieve the goals and objectives defined by the Laws of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Charter of the Association, the Association represents the interests of small, medium and large businesses, both in the Republic of Kazakhstan and in the BeNeLux countries, covering with its activities all areas of business - industry, domestic and foreign trade, agriculture, financial system, services, etc.

In accordance with the data of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the total trade turnover of the BeNeLux countries with Kazakhstan from 2017 to 2019 amounted to 17,6 billion US dollars. Foreign direct investment from the BeNeLux countries since 2005 has amounted to more than 80 billion US dollars.

Considering the foregoing, the Association actively participates in the continuation of the development of trade and economic relations between the BeNeLux countries and Kazakhstan, and also promotes investment cooperation of all countries, while providing consulting assistance, information and other assistance to both Kazakhstani and companies of the BeNeLux countries. Assistance in entering the market, the peculiarities of regulation of certain areas of activity in the countries of the Association and other issues is provided regardless of the form of ownership of the company.

The Association in its activities will closely cooperate with the Government, relevant ministries and departments, AIFC, Kazenergy, EcoJer, NCE Atameken, trade and diplomatic missions of the countries of the Association.

Also, the Association is working with the Belgian-Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce in the Russian Federation and the BeNeLux Chamber of Commerce in the People's Republic of China, in order to develop joint mutually beneficial events.

The Board of Directors of the Association is formed from among the representatives of the leading companies in the BeNeLux region in Kazakhstan. This list includes: Shell, Arendt & Medernach, Eurasian Resources Group, Arcelor Mittal and FoodVentures. The Council is headed by the President of the Association, Mr. Van den Weghe Denis, Honorary Consul of the Kingdom of Belgium in Almaty and Almaty region.

All members of the Association can use the premises of the office in Astana (Headquarters) free of charge for meetings and/or videoconferencing facilities (up to 10 people).

The BeNeLux Chamber of Commerce intends to be the leading catalyst for the economic expansion of companies from Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg in Kazakhstan, as well as for Kazakh companies wishing to establish joint ventures or wish to export to the BeNeLux regions.

Van den Weghe Denis

Mr. Van Den Weich was born in 1984 and holds a bachelor's and master's degree in chemical engineering from the Catholic University of Leuven (Belgium). Appointed President of the ALE "BeNeLux Chamber of Commerce" in April 2021. He has more than 8 years of experience in public service and corporate governance.

From 2010 to 2020, he held the positions of the Head of the Japanese international company in the field of consumer goods (FMCG), Chairman of the Board-President of the company Atakent KTsDS JSC, Member of the Board of Directors of Atakent KTsDS JSC, Independent Director - Member of the Board of Directors of JSC "NC "Kazakh Invest" and Chairman of the Committee on Human Resources, Remuneration and Social Security of the Board of Directors, Member of the Board of Directors in the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of France-Kazakhstan. Kurzhikaev Anuar Myrzagazievich was born in 1984, by the decision of the Board of Directors he was appointed to the position of General Director of the ALE "Chamber of Commerce "BeNeLux" in November 2022.

From 2021 to 2022 served as Advisor to the Chairman of the Board of Directors of AIFC Business Connect.
